Seeking a Youth Worker

Ockley Okewood and Forest Green Parish is seeking to appoint a part-time Youth Worker to be based in this lively rural parish and to have a parish wide perspective to nurture and encourage the young people within the church family and lead an effective outreach to young people beyond the church family.

The post involves strategic oversight of the work with children and young people aged 3-18, with a particular focus on the activities and events for those aged 12-18 years.

The purpose of this role is to lead and work alongside the well-established Youth Team of volunteers, whose focus is on younger children, and to extend this to the young people within our church community, and to develop the outreach to young people.

We are looking for someone who will be able to think outside the box, someone with the skills to shape and grow our current ministry to young people, and someone to bring new vision and strategy for reaching out into the community.

We wish to appoint someone who has a heart for working with young people, the vision and initiative to start new things, and a commitment to youth ministry as an inclusive part of whole church life.
